Chlorophyll- My New Obsession

Ummm.. ok so hear me out.. Chlorophyll. Yes, the stuff that is in plants.

About two months ago, one of my favorite travel bloggers, Travel In Her Shoes, posted about a plant based skin care regimen from Bio Clarity. Being super curious, I ordered the skin care product right away. I thought ‘why not try something new that is completely plant based’. Basically, I have had hormonal acne ever since college and I am always willing to try something new.

Fast forward two months on Bio Clarity, and no break outs (knock on all the wood possible). I am loving this product and I am loving the way it makes my skin feel.

Bio Clarity is a 3 step process- clean, acne treatment, lotion- I have religiously been doing this process every day for almost 2 months now and my skin has definitely cleared up. I also bought HYDRATE – a skin smoothie- from Bio Clarity and I put that on before bed every night so that my skin has time to absorb it.

Being that this was all topical use and my skin was feeling great, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to infuse chlorophyl into drinks/ food – if it went right into my system. After some browsing, I came across The Skinny Confidential’s post about Chlorophyll and wouldn’t you know it has AMAZING benefits. Some are listed below…

  • enhances the production of red blood cells
  • Tons of antioxidants which helps prevent the skin from oxidizing
  • Promotes healthy digestion

All you need is chlorophyll from whole foods (or some other store- up to you) and put a few drops in your water, smoothie, or even beer to reap all the amazing benefits!

  1. Thanks so much for sharing this. I am always on the lookout for plant-based products that actually work so this is definitely something I’ll look for next time I’m in Whole Foods. i’m intrigued! Plus, who wouldn’t want to add a few drops of Chlorophyll to wine for optimal benefits (right??). XO
