With the new algorithm, having a business profile is crucial if you want to grow an audience and a build community. Now, I’m not saying you NEED to have one, but it definitely helps track your stats and your most popular time to post which, as we know, helps with engagement.
The first thing to do if you want a business profile is create a Facebook page through your Instagram.
- Go to ‘settings’
- ‘Switch to Business Profile’
- It will ask you to create a facebook page – so create it.
- After your facebook page is created you will have a business account.
From there, you will now notice that on your profile account page, there are four bars in the upper right hand corner next to the archive button. These four ‘bars’ are your stat bars. Click on this.
When you click on those four bars your statistics will open. You will notice in the below picture that there are three different tabs for your stats.
Activity helps you understand which days your posts for the week have done the best on. Profile visits, website clicks and email clicks on your page.
Content helps you understand which posts have done THE BEST on your page. This is important to know because once you know what kind of content your audience enjoys, you can create more of that to continue the momentum.
Audience helps you understand the demographics of your followers. Male vs female, location, age range and what time your audience is most active (key key key)!
Now, don’t be alarmed when it says you have NO STATS or nothing shows up. This is because you just made your business account. The more you post, the more stats will be recorded on your page.
In general- the more you post, the better for engagement and people tracking your page.

Continue to monitor all of your posts. On every post there is a ‘ view insights’ button (blue) that you can click to look over all of your stats and how many unique accounts your picture has reached. This is an amazing feature that I utilize for every single post I create and share.
This helps you hone in on the best times to post and reminds you to post when your audience is most active.
